While still in his teens, he appeared in some of the most popular youth-oriented films of the '80s, including Gremlins, Stand by Me, The Goonies, The Lost Boys, License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream (with his frequent co-star Corey Haim).
Drug addiction and brushes with the law stalled his career some in the following decade; he emerged as a star of numerous low-budget productions but also appeared in the occasional higher-end feature such as Maverick (1994). In more recent years, Feldman has launched a side career as a recording artist and starred in a stage version of Fatal Attraction.
