Eager to help his family make ends meet, LaBeouf began performing stand-up comedy in Los Angeles clubs while still in grade school, and by the time he was 12 had signed an agent. In 2003, the teen actor played opposite Sigourney Weaver and Jon Voight in the hit Disney tale Holes.
Additional films followed, and as LaBeouf exited his teens, he began to assay more mature roles in movies such as Bobby (2006), the Hitchcock-style thriller Disturbia (2007) and Michael Bay's actioner Transformers (2007).
