After appearing with Julia Roberts in My Best Friend's Wedding (1997) and with Ewan McGregor in A Life Less Ordinary (1997), Diaz won rave reviews for her performance in the offbeat comedy There's Something About Mary (1998). Now an A-list actress, Diaz turned in another impressive performance as a frumpy animal-lover in the indie hit Being John Malkovich (1999) and then did yet another 360-degree turn with a starring role in Charlie's Angels (2000).
Diaz's other notable performances include Shrek and Vanilla Sky (both 2001) and Gangs of New York (2002).
