Misery chases overweight teen Rita Matchett (Susan Myers), who is rejected by her classmates and ridiculed by her sister, Kristina (Helen Hunt), but when the brooding outcast discovers her telekinetic powers, her thoughts turn from inner loathing to outright revenge.
