Lea's (Maria Bonnevie) idyllic life and bright future is shattered forever when her father's untimely death frees Lea's mother to take up with an abusive man and ultimately influences the growing girl's decisions about alcohol and eventually heroin. Director Margreth Olin's documentary-turned-fictitious tale of how an unhealthy family relationship and environment literally breeds an addict is as compelling as it is disturbing.
