This dramatized biographical portrait celebrates the life and work of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a noted social reformer and scholar who fought tirelessly for the rights of India's so-called "untouchables." Spanning the years 1901 to1956, the film follows young Ambedkar to the United States, where he learns about the struggles of African Americans, and ultimately goes back to India, where he clashes with Gandhi and adopts Buddhism.
