A love-struck detective falls for a gangster's unwilling moll in this vintage crime tale. When Viola Avery (Esther Ralston), a judge's daughter, is arrested during a raid on a gambling house, the owner -- King Moss (Sidney Blackmer) -- saves her from certain scandal. Moss insists Viola repay him romantically and by helping him smuggle illegal aliens, but immigration inspector Baxter (Regis Toomey), infatuated with Viola, goes after Moss.
