A venal Parisian couple (Mireille Darc and Jean Yanne) sets off on a sojourn to the country only to find themselves caught in a traffic jam from hell. But things go from bad to worse as they're carjacked by a man professing to be God and later abducted by a band of anarchists. Director Jean-Luc Godard's scathing critique of the bourgeoisie is a darkly amusing allegorical tale teeming with taboos, including parricide and cannibalism.
