Kirk Douglas makes his screen debut in the 1946 film noir classic The Strange Love of Martha Ivers, playing the weak, alcoholic husband of a powerful heiress (Barbara Stanwyck). The doomed couple is bound together by a murder that occurred years earlier. Screen greats Van Heflin and Lizabeth Scott co-star in the film, and Lewis Milestone directs.
