Mary Pickford takes on two roles in this silent film. Young Cedric (Pickford) has a hard time dealing his father's death. Making matters worse, his grandfather, the Earl of Dorincourt (Claude Gillingwater), thinks Cedric's mother (Pickford) was only after his son's money, so he ends all contact with the boy and his mother. Later, the Earl realizes that Cedric is the sole heir to his fortune, so he seeks to repair the strained relationship.
