Parvasu, the chief priest of a kingdom parched by years of drought, is hoping the seven-year fire sacrifice to Indra (the God of Rain) will, literally, bear fruit. Meanwhile, Parvasu's cousin and rival, Yavakri, returns from 10 years of penance in the forest. Although he's gained power, enlightenment has eluded him. When Yavakri decides to seduce Parvasu's wife, the heavens and earth are shaken. A story derived from the epic Mahabharatha.
