After the success of The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno, movie mogul Irwin Allen returned to the disaster movie genre to produce this lesser-known effort about a group of tourists trapped on an island struck by a volcanic eruption. Boasting an impressive ensemble cast, the action adventure stars Paul Newman, Jacqueline Bisset, William Holden, Burgess Meredith, Red Buttons, Ernest Borgnine and Pat Morita.
