A long-standing feud between two Indian families provides the plot for this Romeo and Juliet-style melodrama. The dueling sides, a band of gypsy descendants headed by Raja Bajadur and the landowning clan of Thakur Bhavani Singh, have been enemies for generations. Now, their children will do everything they can to end the battle forever. Directed by Yash Chopra, the film stars Sunil Dutt, Vinod Khanna, Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan.
