In this drama, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is literally slumming it, playing a fast-talking man from the mean streets whose devil-may-care name, Ram Jaane, translates as "God knows." For his social worker friend Murali, efforts to reform this handsome criminal end disastrously, as Ram Jaane seems more keen to steal Murali's girl and turn other boys to crime than change his ways.
