@ wpqx:
Imagine that: I already was a fan of "The Cremator" after I saw it with french subtitles.
I absolutely must see more czech films from that period, there are probably many more unique masterpieces around.
@ arsaib:
My inital fear was that I wouldn't like any of Bunuels films, though I enjoyed "Belle de Jour" and "Un Chien Andalou" before (Don't ask me why, I don't know). Having A sitting next to me at the screenings of "Vidiana" and "Susana" helped a lot, I guess. It's wonderful if you have an instinctively feeling that your companian feels and thinks about a film the same way and I hardly remember another film we enjoyed both so much as "Susana" (usually, I'm enthusiastic and he is so-so ). It was like a totally surreal combination of Paul Verhoeven, Russ Meyer, Douglas Sirk, Hitchcock and Bunuel's own style. And yet, it left a long and stimulating aftertaste, so it wasn't just quick amusement.
Looking forward to see "Gran Casino", A's description makes it sound delicious.
