I would like to catch up on some foreign films that I have missed. As a starting place, can anyone tell me where to find a list of the Oscar or Cannes Festival nominees for best foreign language film in the last 15 years?

Or any other "lists" that I may use as a starting place...Thank you

(I realize that lists are not necessarily the best indication of a classic foreign film, however, I am new to the foreign language film genre and I thought that might be a good place to start. If anyone has a better idea, I am certainly open to suggestions. Thanks

www.oscar.com used to have a list of all the Foreign Language Film nominees in their History Database, but it's now down for some reason. You can only access the list of winners, but not the nominees.

For the Cannes list, you can try http://www.festival-cannes.fr . I believe they might have it in their Archives section.

Movie Magazine's list of 100 greatest foreign films may be found here:

I don't necessarily agree with all of the choices, but it does provide a good primer. Some of the films on the list are featured on my site (www.filmref.com), in case you want to get a better idea of what the films are about.
